601 is the series. Get a cheat sheet to find out the model differances. I have a 641, some of the different model numbers will get or leave off 3-point,pto,live clutch, p/s. I have rebuilt the steering, common sign is oil leaks at steering shafts coming out of gear and steering wheel moving up and down. Also replaced cam and gears sounded like water pump going out. but a real workhorse and I like it.

I don't know the model number yet. It was made in 1961. Any idea on price?? It has the the front end loader on it.

The common price seems to be in the 3000-3500 range. no beauty queen, everything works, less loader. Is it a rough 900 hrs, been covered. I sorta view hours like car milage after the first engine overhaul or past 50000-75000 mile the milage is sort of irrelevent.

With a Ford tractor, you can never pay too much, you can however, buy too soon.

It was a government tractor, does that make it any more valuable???

Might make it less valuable. Depending on what the Gummint used it for, may be an el Strippo with no features (no 3 point hitch, no pto, etc). Some old Fords were used by the Air Force as airplane tugs so they had no need for such things. Makes them interesting conversation pieces but not very valuable from a user standpoint.
