New points, new plugs, new condensor. put a 6 volt battery on it and it turns over very slowly. In checking the fire it seems to hit every other time if lucky. 12 volt batery and it wants to start very quickly.. A friend of mine says that the compression is poor and needs to be overhauled. I find that hard to believe. Any Other Ideas. I thought maybe the coil but I don't have a regular spark. Help

i have a 901 with 12 volt battery in it and it works fine. start your tractor with a 12 volt. check your battery voltage when running and if its over 12 volts then your tractor should have a 12 volt battery not a 6 volt.
