I have a Ford 2000 3 cyl gas. I know I need to buy a shop manual so I can learn about this thing, but in the mean time I'll just keep asking y'all stupid questions.... It don't have any obvious remotes. Where should I look for a place to tap in to the hydraulic system for a back hoe? I've found a back hoe that will work on the 3 point hitch...if I can find a place to hook up the hydraulic lines (1-in, 1-out).

Thanks!!
Dave

Zane is correct about the speed. I have a blade
on the front of my 2000 run from the tractor
hydraulic system and it is very slow (it only has one cylinder for up/ down). I would think a backhoe would be unusable. Some 3 point backhoes
I have seen have a seperate hydraulic system run
by a pump driven from the PTO shaft output ( same
place you hook up a bush hog). To answer your question, the ports are on the lift cover on top, just forward of the lift quadrant lever.

Their will never be enough volume from the tractors hydraulic pump to operate a backhoe. It would be so slow you would have to sight it to see if it was moving. You need either a PTO pump of a volume great enough to operate it or a front driven pump of enough volume for a back hoe.

My 3000 has a set of remotes mounted atop the lift cover, (just under the front of the seat). On your machine you will see the whole iron cover bolted in place.

This set of valves provides control to a pair of double acting cylinders. There are many variations upon this. Whomever is going to sell you the hoses, fittings, etc. will be able to steer you toward the right unit for your machine.

The Ford service manuals are readily available from Ford. They run about a hundred bucks. And worth every cent.

good luck.
