Does anybody know where I can find a shift collar and or a shift coupling for my five speed transmission 3rd gear. I want it to be new.

I have found one of each on a website but the prices are outragous. I already have the 3rd gear new that I bought at an outragous price locally. He had to order it. After all was said and done I could have gotten it off the internet site cheaper but had already made a deal with him so I paid throught the nose and brought it home. I have it in my safe!!!!!

Any help with this thing will be appreciated. I bought this 600 at what I thought was a bargain but am beginnig to wonder just how much of a bargain it really was.

If you can find the part you need in the condition you want it just buy it and be glad! If you can be flexable as to condition then the prices are more flexable too! It gets wearing hearing people complain about prices for obsolete parts for their toys or for tractors that should have been replaced long ago. Parts people have to make a living too!!! Be glad you can get a part for any price. The fact you could find the part locally was pretty good in itself and you should thank them for having the loyalty to their customers to have it in stock for a FOURTY FIVE year old machine at any price. If they can get the part at all give your local dealer the business. Go to an auto dealer and asking for a transmission part for a Fordomatic in a 1955 Ford car and see what reaction you get!! Support your local dealer while you still have one!

What's the matter with you Zane you should be glad you paid through the nose for that part after all they did you a favor by being able to get it. I think there's expensive, and then there's highway robery, Just because you're an
exclusive part supplier I don't think you have to make a life's salary on one part. That's why companies in places like India are E mailing people tryng to get them to buy there cheaper parts.
