What options are available to increse the RPMs of a rear mounted snowblower?

I have a Ford 1500 (20 hp 4wd diesel) with a Ford Model 715 snowblower. The blower was originally mounted on the front of the tractor and ran off the front PTO. It has since been reconfigured to mount on the rear. It doesn't seem to run fast enough. It won't blow even light snow. I read that the front PTO speed was around 900 rpm and the rear PTO speed is 540 rpm.

I know of someone with the same situation who rigged his own device to increase the speed. It would seem to me that Ford would sell different worm gear assemblies that would work on either a front or rear mounting set up.

Anybody have any suggestions? Now that it's set up to mount on the rear I'd prefer to keep it that way rather than remount it on the front.

Thanks.

I HAVE A 715 BLOWER AND I WAS TOLD I COULD NOT MOUNT IT ONTO THE BACK. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MINE THE SHAFT THAT GOES FROM THE CHAIN TO THE SHAFT KEEPS BREAKING. THIS BLOWER HAS HARDLY BEEN USED. AND THE SHAFT IS HALF AS MUCH AS THE BLOWER. I WAS TOLD THIS INFO. FROM MARKDALE FORD. THERE IS A PERSON THERE BY THE NAME OF HARVEY WHO IS REALLY KNOWLEDGEABLE.
