My "new" tractor has a "600" emblem on the front. The markings at rear of starter on the trans. says a 621 and the serial number indicates a late 1961 model. It has a 3-point hitch, PTO and 4-speed transmission. It has a fuel gage (not working), an oil pressure gage, an empty hole, no hole for a proofmeter and no headlights. The engine appears to be the 134 CID gasoline engine. What exactly do I have? Thanks Albe

Could be anything. The only thing you can be sure of is that you have a 4 speed transmission out of a 621. What color is it and does it appear to be the original paint? Does it have a 3ph and a pto? If I remember the info on the Vintage Ford Tractor Resource correctly, a 621 would have neither of these things. If yours does, then i would lean toward you having possibly a 600 with a boneyard transmission from a 621. The front emblem really proves nothing as they are easily swapped, too. Check the link for more info.

Thanks Jim, Looks like the hood was painted grey(long time ago) but under grey is red. It does have a 3ph and PTO. Also, fuel tank holds about 13-14 gallon which could make it a 601 series? It does have holes where headlights should be but no hole for a switch. Runs good and strong so that's O.K.. I would just like to know since some tune-up specs are different between a 600 and 601. Thanks again.

Hmmm: Red hood would indicate 601 series. PT0 was an option on 621. 3 pt was not supposed to be a part of the package, but I've seen one like this before and it also had 3-point. I'm guessing these were sold as bid tractors to school, town or state, or as a price leader to farmers. Until you know more, I suggest you consider it a 621. And, you're lucky to get one! Mike-
