600 Series advice

I asked a while back about whether I should get a 9N and got great advice. I didn't get the tractor and I am glad I waited.

OK...Here is the most recent find. A 600 series, from the description probably a 640, but it could be a 650 or 660, I'll have to see tomorrow.

As described to me, the tractor runs but needs carb work (no big deal). It caught fire at one point, but supposedly the damage has been repaired to include patching the fuel tank, replacing alternator (12V conversion), new guages except tachometer. One new front and one new rear tire (I take that to mean 70% or better). The other front needs to be replaced and maybe the other rear, I'll have to see. Supposedly the hydraulics have been re-built. Supposedly all complete. Needs paint. Not sure about the sheet metal.

He wants $1200, says he will take $1000, but I bet he would take $800-900 if I waived the bills under his nose. What do you distinguished gentlemen think? What is a reasonable price range? Thanks...BB

If I were you, I'd be on my way over there right now, if I thought he'd take $800 for it. Heck, you could part-out the tranny to one of our Select-O-Speed brothers for that!

If you don't want it, get back to me - I do!

My opinion,
TOmmy D.
