The head torque is 65-70 lbs, valve clearance is .015 straight across. As for the gas tank it is inevitable to remove it and seal it properly. Good Luck Stephen

I've heard some people put marbles in the tank and shake it around. When you put the tank back, make sure it is bolted tight - no vibration.

All valves are .015" hot.

Don't know head bolt torque.

Good luck.

Sounds like you don't have a manual. Should get one. The reprint Ford manual is generally considered better than the I&T version for this tractor. I don't have mine handy and I'm no mechanic, but some of your questions can be answered on the linked site. Click on the "Engine" and "Torque Specs" buttons. Have fun with it.

Thanks Jim. That is a great site for some of the info I needed. I am going to try the marble trick also that Tom wrote about.

My 641 had rust in the gas tank so I went to all the work of taking off the gas tank and used shingle nails and mineral spirits to slosh around to clean it.It did not work all that well. I wish I would have took it in and had it sealed.Just my opinion. Good luck

Thank John I did not do the marble thing, thought I might have trouble getting them all out, I put some painter tinner in the tank and that seems to be doing the trick, and I do have the tank off so I can shake it around.
