Many, Many Questions, all probably quite simple to a bunch of veteran tractor owners. Here goes.

Tractor 1962 841

What is the difference between a Pierce (M# NCA99810A) or Novi (M# NAA99810B) Governors and how to tell the diffence with no part numbers or accesible?

What is power assisted steering, and how do I know if it is working and how to maintain it?

What does the proof meter cable attach to on the opposite end of the proofmeter?

You guys/gals have helped a bunch. Thanks.

I need a governor spring for my 601 Ford tractor 4 cylinder gas. The only number I can find on the governor is EAF6059-D. Can you help me?

Thank you in advance

There were two styles of governors used. The early models used a type with 6 balls inside. The later models used 2 rollers. As far as I can tell they look the same from the outside. As to which is the Pierce or Novi, I don't know. I also don't know just when they changed styles. Maybe someone with the master parts manual can help.

Sorry I can't help more, John

Power assist steering is just that Power assistance to the mechanical steering linkage. And brother you should be able to tell if you have it or not in whether or not you can spin the steering wheel from lock to lock with one hand while standing still. That or you have the arms of a gorrila!

I only know 1 answer: proofmeter cable screws into the end of the hydraulic pump on the right side of the engine, back towards the flywheel.
