Today we obtained the sediment bowl for the carb, rebuilt the carb, installed a new battery and the missing ignition parts.
We cranked it over and the thing started almost immediately!! No smoke or strange noises, EVEN the lights worked!! I did a brief "road test" with it because we were told the transmission was blown up but, I couldn't find anything wrong with it. It's a Sherman 12 speed and I haven't tried all the gears, because I'm not sure how it works. I found that forward and back on the lever results in 2 ranges, does pulling "outward" on the lever engage the 3rd??
Also, does anyone know the correct adjustment procedures for the Marvel-Schebler TSX765 carb?

We'll be starting on the bodywork next restoring it to it's original red chassis/frame and yellow sheetmetal (someone brush painted them red, yuk!)

Thanks to all for help, Jeff
(I still can't believe they were junking this unit!)

I can only help you on the sherman combon trans. You are almost correct, down is low "step down", up is high, "step up", then in the middle pull out then back like a backwards "h" that is direct or "standard". Good save and good luck. WRP
