Tractor has no lights, headlights gone due to loader installation. Bought 6 Volt Ag light for rear of tractor. Light has black wire and white wire with connector attached to it. The tractor is 6 Volt Positive ground. Which wire gets grounded to chassis and which wire connects to switch? What size fuse goes inline in the wiring harness above the battery behind the dash? Was there a dash light for these tractors? Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

I put lights on my 850. The switch was junk so I replaced it, too. The switch I bought (a TISCO part) from FNH has a fuse incorporated in it. I don't know the size, sorry. As for the ground wire on the rear light: doesn't matter. As long as the juice comes in one wire, through the light and back out to a good ground the light will work. The lamp is not sensitive to polarity. On the headlights, the original design is for one wire from the switch through the hollow mounting bolt to the lamp. The other lamp terminal is grounded to the lamp housing. That design depends on there being a good connection between the lamp housing, mounting bolt, and fender. Corrosion paint and 40 years of crud can make that assumptin iffy. A better way to go is to run the ground wire back out the hollow bolt and terminate it at a good grounding site. I connect mine to one of the front emblem mounting screw.
Now for the dash light: a dash light was optional and mounted on the dash in that hole between all the "little" gauges. If there is no dash light, the hole will be filled with a flat metal plug about the size of a quarter. The dash light is about 1.5" tall with a domed top. The side that faces the guages has slits in it to allow the light to shine on the gauges. Good luck.
