I have searched the archives and all of internet and cannot seem to come to a conclusion as to what plugs to install in my 841. Operator's manual says 14mm plug with .025 - .029 Gap. Antique Tractor pages say H10. I have read posts throughout the archives to use Motorcraft, AC, but not Champion. Also, read to use H12s, to prevent fouling on older engines, since they are hotter plugs. I have cross referenced several plugs (H10C Champion - 215, 216, 217 Autolites - Motocraft AL7C, AL7, AL7X - Bosch W9AO - AC M44L, 45L) and (H12 Champion - 218 Autolites - Motocraft AL11 - Bosch WR9EC - AC 44). These cross references are right from manufacturers manuals and there is no way for me to decide, plus of course the heat ranges are going to vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. I need some field tested recommendations. What plugs are firing your engines, specifically the 800 and 801 Series?

Allan , I run Autolite 437's also, same as Dave, and have for many years , they are the hotter range of the Autolite 216 's that are most commonly used in the Ford tractors . If you are using the original 6 volt system gap them at .025 , if you are running a 12 volt system gap them at .035 , If you have gone to 12 volt and Electronic Ignition gap them at .045 , the higher voltage allows for a wider gap allowing for a hotter spark . Autolite and Motorcraft are Ford sparkplugs , off hand I do not know the cross references for the Motorcraft plugs . I would use the Motorcraft if I could not get the Autolites as a second choice . AC is a GM sparkplug that I use in my Chevy trucks and have had excellent results with . I would use the AC plugs as a third choice if I could not get either of the Ford plugs . Personally I have never had good results with Champion plugs in anything so I do not use them or reccomend them . Thanks Tony Jacobs

I have run autolite 437's in my 861 for 3 years now with no problems. The 437's are a hotter plug.
