Regarding the 1959 Gold demo - check the archives under gold demonstrators- it has a wealth of info. some dealers were able to get 2 - be sure if you are going to paint it, document, document. I don't know exactly how much they are worth - just whatever anyone is willing to pay. I have one and am still looking for the correct paint code. There will be 2 numbers on the transmission and there is an interesting story about that. I'll be interested to hear how you come out. Good luck Ron

Click on the link for one version of how many were made. As for value? Whatever the buyer and seller can agree on.

The 1959 press release package announced the closed circuit TV introduction of the S-O-S Feb 4 1959 in Yuma Az. It mentions that there were some 2,600 dealers at that time. If each really got one there were 2,600. I have seen or heard of them still in original gold going from $800 to $10,000. The repainted ones are worth less because a "restored" gold tractor is simple to create from a red and grey one.
