Recently I posted a response in which I said the 601 & 801 drivelines are essentially the same. Tony Jacobs corrected me, and I then informed him that my information came from the factory parts catalog. Well.....it turns out that I need to spend a little more time learning how to use the parts manual. While there are parts in common between the 601 & 801 drivelines, there are a LOT of differences. Tony Jacobs and snitkawl were both nice enough to post corrections to my error, and I apologize to them, and to anyone I may have misled. I spent several years behind the parts counter in a Cadillac dealership, so I'm especially embarrassed about making this mistake. Then to make matters worse, I have to apologize on the Internet!!! Ever wonder why those knuckleheads at the parts counter are always giving you the wrong part....now you know.

Nothing to apologize for. I have learned much from posting errant information. It does not take long for someone to set things right.

Don't be so hard on yourself. One who never makes mistakes, never does anything.

We ALL make mistakes, Al. Both here and in 'real life'. There was no harm done I'm sure. I'm just glad I didn't honk your horn last night, too, I darn near did.
