I have some corrision and wanna refinish the swing-out arm battery tray---but I cannot seem to get it loose to pull it off. I pulled out 2 pins and tapped it with a hammer and cannot get it to budge---it isn't rusted either. How many pins are there? I can only find two.Been trying over past 3 days in little spurts of time I have available. Any help would be appreciated.

JD, there should only be two cotter pins holding the tray in where it pivots. One on top and one on bottom. It may be though that there is a groove worn into the pin which is blocking it. Mine was in prety poor shape but came out with a few hard raps. Good luck.
