A friend is looking at this Ford and asked me if $4700 was a good price. I thought it sounded high but at our farm we are all JD so I am unfamiliar. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks guys for the help. I passed on the info. I believe he plans to use it on some acreage on some new land he got in southern Ohio.

In 1958 my dad bought a new 861D. I was just a kid then but it runs in my mind that dad told me that
he paid right at 2900 for it. The little ford was
a good little tractor for cultivating spuds and
beets but not big enough for much heavy work. The
$4700 seems much too high for the area that I live
in, but tractors bring different prices in different areas. I guess the bottom line is if that tractor is worth $4700 to you.

Bill, I recently bought a 651 diesel in Medina just before the steam tractor blew. I paid $4,000 for it. It had new tires on the back, beatiful paint job and ran good. I thougt it was a bit high, but I wanted it and went for it. No extras with it. About 4 years ago I bought a REALLY clean 841 gas, 4 good tires, new paint, runs superb. I paid $4,500 for that one and still don't regret it. The 861 has the live PTO, nice feature. I would say that 4K is more realistic IF it runs really good, and the spindles are not gone , and the lift arms stay up for a while ( hours not minutes), you know what I mean. Fred

He told me it was a 1958 with a recent set of rings. It needed a set of front tires and a coat of paint.

I just bought an 850 gas with Wagner loader, snow bucket, chains and rear platform with 500 hours for $3,500. Tires are good and everything works. Has a leaky valve cover gasket. That price sounds rather high unless it was mint. Hope this h
