According to the numbers on the transmission, I have a 621 Ford Tractor. The hood emblem says 600. I received some hinge parts from one of the guys on this board. The hinged portion of the hood( the lid?) looks "narrow".It is about 8 1/8 in. in rear and 9 5/8 inch in front. It appears to be about 1/2 inch too narrow. Does anyone know the correct dimensions for this "lid"? Thanks albe

Albe: It is probably the right size "lid." In fact I think all of the lids from Jubilee through 800, 901 (probably even the 2000 and 4000 4 cylinder models) are all the same size. Maybe your opening has been widened a bit. Do you know that the hood emblem probably is a replacement for the original wheat shock? I'd bet you've got the right parts that are just a bit out of alignment. Good luck, Mike-Iowa

The other possibility is that you have a 600 series that has had it's trans replace with a junkyard unit. Since the model/serial number are stamped into the trans case, the number would transfer to the tractor, giving you false serial/model number data. What color is the tractor and is the paint original? Red hood/gray fenders = 601. Gray hood & fenders with red castings = 600.

Jim, It appears that the hood at one time may have been red indicating a 601, the lid has been grey, blue or red at one time or another. It's probably a "junk yard special".But it runs fine now. Thanks Albe
