I have an '82 1900 4wd and just had a Westendorf front end loader installed. Loader works great but I can't figure how to use the 3pt while hoses are connected to FEL. If I disconnect the hoses, the 3pt works great. Do I need to plumb some sort of by-pass hose from the controls or is this just the way it has to be? Thanks for input.

My 1710 has a hydraulic manifold block on the lower right side of the engine. The block contains a diverter valve as well as a pressure relief valve. The loader hook up is from the pressure side of auxiliary system ports on the block to my loader SCV inlet, from the SCV outlet and from the outlet back to the aux return port on the block. The aux return port in turn feeds the remote (3ph) high-pressure line. This type hook up does require a power beyond type loader SCV, which can be identified by the presence of a second return line that runs from the valve directly to the oil sump.

With the diverter valve in remote position only the 3ph works. With the valve in aux position, the 3ph and loader work. However, 3ph lifts are interrupted when any loader valve is active (loader valves block oil flow to the 3ph).

This type of hook up is fairly standard, because it saves the trouble of switching a diverter valve back and forth to go from 3ph to loader use.

I'm guessing you have a spoolvalve on the loader? the way they work(at least i think)is there is always oil circulating through the valve, even when you don't use it,so there isn't any pressure in the system to run the 3ph,what you probably need is a flowdivertervalve, like the old mf35,mf50,my dexta has one to switch between 3ph and the remote-outlet.just something to try
