I've got a drippy leak of power steering fluid around the steering column on my '65 3000. Can I use MC134 hydraulic oil as power steering fluid?

Yep, definately you can use #134, that's what I use. HOWEVER ! You should not mix fluids. If you have Dexron type red fluid in it now, you should stay with it, unless you drain the whole system and then put in fresh #134. Mixing different fluids sometimes causes a chemical reaction which causes corrosion or seal wear. My $.02

When I put a new filter in my power steering the parts guy who I trust said do not use # 134 as it is not compatible with the seal and o-ring in the steering. He said use only power steering fluid.

Your parts guy is misinformed, period. 134D is currently the ONLY factory recommended fliud for use in Ford or New Holland tractors.
