Anyways I,ve gotten a few different aponions on what they look like or if they do or do not have the ford script on the fender?? Does it go by year , early or later ?? I have a 1954 640 also , are the fenders the same ?? Thanks,,, Craig

Here's what I've observed about fenders. The early hundred series fenders had a different support structure than the later ones. Seems the change was made around the start of '56. If your 640 has original fenders you can go out and look at them to see what I'm talking about. The early ('54/'55) fenders had a support structure consisting of a piece of flat stock that loops around the perimeter of the fender skin. The later ones used three braces that branch up from the base. All hundred series fenders had Ford script and all were the larger skins (bigger than an NAA) that curved up and over the top of the tire more than the Jubilee/NAA fender did. With the x01 series the fender skin changed to a flatter design with a kidney shaped indentation in the middle to stiffen it. These were commonly used as replacement fenders on the earlier hundred series. You see them on hundred series tractors all the time but they're not correct from a restoration point of view. Yeah, they work, but I never cared for their appearance (personal bias). So, the correct fenders for your '57 (imo) would be the same style skins as your 640, but with the later triple brace support structure. Look a x00 and x01 tractors wherever you see them and you'll understand the differences. Just another way for a tractor junkie to get a little more obsessive!

I also have an 860 Im starting to go through slowly and cannot find a set of original fenders for it. Someone put Ford replacement fenders from the jubilee on mine right now. Have called a few dealerships and they told me you could not get the originals but have switched to the same fenders as a 2000,3000 tractor has on them. Which is the kind with the kidney shape in the middle I believe. Have started searching the junkyards but havent had any luck yet, these fenders must not have lasted long. I also still dont know if the originals came with the Ford emblem molded in them yet.

My 850 with original fenders has the Ford script on them. If your local junkyard doesn't have the right fenders, you could try tOTG
