Why won't it hold any implement in position? If I set my mower at any given height, as I'm mowing it will sink until it hits the ground. If I raise it all the way up it will stay there, but it won't hold at any other position. I was told that the cylinder needed to be replaced and it couldn't be rebuilt. Is this correct? Or is it someting else?

Hi Ray,
You will find a lot more info on the 9N on the 9N/2N/8N board, the reason your hydraulics sink is that the 9N dooesn't have a position control in the hydraulic system, the 8N does, you can cure the problem by purchasing and installing a Zane Thang which was designed by and is sold by a fella' on the 9N board. Not surprisingly his name is Zane. If I knew how to put a link in I would, his site is>Link
that>Link will get you some help. Good luck
Mike

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the info. I've found several other helpful hints on the 9N/2N/8N Board too. Only wish I would have found this site a few years ago.

Ray J
