I recently became the third owner of a well cared for 1958 641. At some point during the 37 years the original owner had it the 134CID engine was replaced with a 172CID engine. I know that because 134 rings were 1/2" too small. CONN6015J is cast into the block on the right side, and right front corner of the block has a fuel pump mount which is fitted with a cover plate. On the left side of the engine is cast 7L7 1, and a circle containing the numbers 75310. Past posts on this site indicate this engine is either an industrial engine, a factory service replacement, or a diesel block. Can anyone tell me what engine I have, and how old it is. Thanks.....Al

HI THERE AL I HAVE A INDUSTRIAL GAS ENGINE WITH THE SAME NUMBER "CONN6015J" AS YOURS MINE IS A 1965 172CID. I WAS TOLD BY A OLD TIMER AT TARHELL FORD NEW HOLLAND THAT THE 172 INDUSTRIAL MOTORS WERE EITHER GAS,DIESEL OR PROPANE AND THAT THEY ALL USED THE SAME BLOCK. BUT THE DIESEL USED A DIFFERENT CLYINDER HEAD AND A INJECTOR PUMP REPLACE THE DISTUBOR HOWEVER I DO NOT KNOW THIS TO BE THE GOSPEL. HERE IS SOME OTHER INFO YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN HOSEPOWER IS 59.5@2800RPM, STROKE 3.60", CYLINDER BORE 3.90", OPERATING RPM RANGE 1200 FULL LOAD AGAIN THIS IS FROM FORD NEW HOLLAND. IF YOU NEED MORE INFO YOU SHOULD CONTACT DAN KIRKPATRICK AT POWERTECH ENGINES.COM HE WAS ABLE TO TELL SOME THINGS ABOUT MY ENGINE THAT KNOW ONE ELSE COULD. HIS EMAIL ADDRESS IS POWER@POWERTECHENGINES.COM.

Hi Al, You have A 1967 Ford Industrial Engine, which could have been bought as a service replacement for any application including tractors , your casting number is that of a 172 c.i.d. engine also . It is not a diesel block , Diesel and Gas are not the same and can't be use as such . Did you ever find a snowplow blade ? you never responed back to me when I answered your post . Thanks Tony Jacobs

Tony, I sincerely appreciate the info on my engine. It is realy nice of you to share your knowlege and experience with all of us.

On the dozer blade....I E-mailed you twice about it. Unfortunately our E-mail has been acting up, so probably you didn't get them. I'm still interested, so either let me know what you have, or better yet, give me a phone number where I can call. If you send me your number let me know what time is best. Many Thanks....Al
