1954 NAA clutch wont release

for some reason clutch wont release, took off starter could see rust on edge of flywheel. got a quart of marvel mystery oil and solvent. with a small funnel i put it in clutch housing, started moter worked the clutch. drained it out, i couldn't believe the stuff that came out. anyway still won't release. any help would be appreciated

Hi Bob,
You can find a lot about trying to unstick the clutch in the archives and the 8N archives. Try them and maybe you'll get lucky. My 8N's clutch stuck so tightly I finally had to split the tractor. If you get to that point find a clutch shop and have it redone. While you're at it, check the flywheel, consider a new teeth ring if needed, and don't forget to replace the throw-out bearing. good luck, john
