Have 82 1900 with 1150 hrs. and the 3 point lift is slow and jumpy, and the pump makes moaning sound, espicially when hot. Rebuilt lift cylinder, changed oil and cleaned filter last year and fixed leak down problems but still slow and jerky. Can the pump be rebuilt? Where can a replacement be obtained at a realistic non-New Holland price?

especially check air leaks on the return lines, sounds like air in the lines, pumps should keep on pumping smooth even if they are worn

Gear type pumps are pretty reliable and I'd expect a longer service life than 1150 hours. Pumps can be damaged especially if run for prolonged periods with obstructed or leaking suction lines, which is something to check.

I remember reading that pumps are not serviceable in my 1710 repair manual. I took a quick tour through my parts manual looking for pump parts. It doesn't look like the internal pump parts are listed. 1900's could be different though.

If a pump problem was something like erosion of the pump gears due to cavitation, it doesn't look like new gears can be order through NH. Unless I'm wrong, the situation sort of puts a crimp in rebuilding ideas. Another attitude is that anything can be fixed, and some very fancy things can be done. Many of them probably would make a new pump even from NH seem like a bargain.
