Ok guys, we need help again. We finally found a block but now that we have the front end off we have another question: We have the suspension pulled away from the block and noticed there was alot of slack in the bracket that bolts the suspension to the block. We just wondered if that could be letting the block drop and cause the fan blade to hit the shroud; also if there is a sleeve that will repair the pin that allows the front end to float. We need to repair this while we have it torn down to replace the block.

"slack in the bracket that bolts the suspension to the block" You mean the front axle support member? This should be held tight to the engine with the 4 bolts. Some wear in the radius rods is normal and shouldn't cause enough slack to let the fan hit the shroud. A badly worn axle pin and bushing could be the culprit or a bent fan shroud.
