I am looking at a Ford 2000. Probably between a 65 and 68 model. Been setting out uncranked for about 2 years. The paint is rough and tires are so-so. The tractor is basically rough. I need to know about what it is worth and any information about the 2000. I am familiar with the 5000's up but I know absolutely nothing about the 2000's. Was it a good tractor? Horsepower? etc. Thanks in advance.

Gas or diesel ? Are all the parts there ? Does it have live PTO ? What kind of trans. and how many speeds if a manual ? Will it turn over, or is the engine stuck ? Parts are swapped around so much on these it's hard to tell by appearance what year it is. You can find out exactly what year it is by the serial number on the flat located on the bellhousing just in back of the the starter.

It is a gas burner. I believe the parts are all still there. I do not know if it is a live PTO or not. It does not have a high or low. It is just a standard shift. this model has the newer sheet metal style not the style like the 801s.

Well, assuming no live PTO, and only the 4 speed trans, in NW Ind. that machine in good shape will only bring about $3500-$4000. It sounds like yours is pretty rough. I guess I would not give over $2500, but why buy it at all !!! Why not wait a little longer for a machine that has the 8 speed at least, and maybe even a live PTO, and maybe even a diesel ? These are pretty good little tractors in the right configuration. About 38 hp for the later model 3 cyl.

I agree with TimK. There was a beautiful 2000 around here priced at $3950 that had live pto, diff lock, 8 speed trans (4 speed with hi/lo) and in very nice condition. If you want just a 4 speed with no live pto you might as well get a Jubilee or 640 and at least have some nostalgia value.
