like Scott says, remove the round cover to the rear of the left footrest. you should be able to see what's happening in there. you may lose a little hydraulic fluid here. if you can tow or move it, park left side uphill. HTH

Does your pto still turn? If not your disc between the engine and trans. went out, if it does turn take off the L.H. foot rest and round side cover, you will be able to see how the tow shifter fits in.

Ray sorry but I cannot help you. Hoping you could help me. I'm tring to get a carb. for my 1955 640, but someone has switched the engine out on me. I've been told it may have came out of a 801 series 1958 or 1959 tractor. Could you check out your casting #'s under your dipstick, mine are 310609. I here this might be a 172, but don't know for sure. Does your carb. have a tsx tag on it, if so can I get them. Do you have any idea what the casting #'s are on the bottom left side front of the engine block are, mine has 89 m 2. sorry I could not help you.
