Governor Replacement

Have to replace the governor on a 1962 Ford 4000,172cid.gas.Is this a straight forward job or will i run into problems?Any advice is appreciated.

I guess I'll make a general response since there is nothing specific to the tractor. I have a 1710.

There are few service routines for governors beyond lubricating pivot points and replacing broken springs. Calibrating them is pretty specialized work and requires test equipment. Governors are pretty reliable and I don't know why an entire new one is needed, but few owners do their own work on governors. I'm guessing that there's no guarantee that a new unit would be properly calibrated and it would be good if an experienced mechanic did the work.
