On many 1920's and about all 2120's, it is possible to push the rear PTO control back past the detent for 'OFF' and have the lever hang there. In this position, it won't crank, yet the PTO seems to be off. The neutral safety switch on the forward/reverse shuttle lever has been known to fail, especially on tractors stored outdoors. The other post about dash lights, etc, has good info.

If the dash lights come and stay bright when turning the key on it is a safety switch problem, if they dim it is battery or a connection problem, if no dash lights come on the short red fuse wire blew near starter, and a bad glow plug or rubbed wire could cause this.

Check PTO lever. It won't crank if PTO is on.

Are you pushing in the clutch pedal when trying to crank it over? There is a safety switch on there as well.
