Hello, I have a Ford 4000 72 model and had a throw out bearing lock up "without noise how I don't know" and it wore the fingers off the pressure plate. FNH was very high on price so I went to a clutch rebuilder that ordered a new one. That’s fine but the springs are very strong and I think my right leg is 2 inches larger than the left. If mine could have been rebuilt it would have been fine but... If they have to order you a new one have them check the spring tension. Mark K

Probably the best option would be to have your clutch rebuilt. Most cities have a company that rebuilds clutch pressure plates and disks. Ask specifically if they have the tools to rebiuld and set up one of these clutches. I had mine done that way and the dual stage pressure plate and both clutches and the clutch alignment tool wound up costing $210.00. Ed

Hi Ed; Talked to my NAPA guy. He say's he can send it to Milwaukee and have it rebuilt. where did you get the clutch alignment tool? Last clutch I replaced was on a Ford flathead. Still got that tool.

We sell Hy-Capacity at work. Parts quality is good, but we have learned to put each double clutch assembly on the jig & set the finger height and PTO plate linkage. Still, it's very affordable compared to OEM. We have also had good luck with clutches from A&I, though we haven't tried that particular clutch from them.
