I know, another hydraulic question! But here goes! I have a '64 model 4 cylinder 2000 with a Freeman manure loader attached. I have used it for about six years now but recently it took about 2-3 minutes of running to "build pressure" and the lift to work. I thought maybe it was loosing prime.

I inhereited my dad's 35 Ferguson and was using it for the last 6 month or so. When I went back to use the Ford with loader the lift wouldn't work at all. I tried the lift spool valve in both positions and pulled the plugon the side of the piston pump and it was moving fluid.

The fluid level is ok. I am leaning towards the relief valve. Do you guys have any idea's. I am about to tear it down, but if there is a quick fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Before this, the lift and loader were very strong, lifting the tractor of the ground when I pulled out some trees from the fence row.

Thanks for any help. By the way, the 35 Ferguson now has a wacky hydraulics as well, but that is anothe story! It involves the draft lever.
Thanks again.

Did oil shoot out of the plug when you removed it from the pump with the engine at idle?

Yes, well, oil flowed out of the plug hole. At idle I wouldn't say it shot out.

I had tried this once before per the IT manual and then the lift worked. But this time I ran the tractor for a good 30 minutes at idle playing with the levers, draft control, loader control valve and checking flow on the pump and the lift still didn't work. I wanted to drive it around some, but it is hard to do with the front hay fork on the ground!
thanks, scott
