Please pardon my ignorance on the subject of blue Fords, but I'm curious about some tractors I see for sale as I travel around. They all seem to have 20 as the last two numbers, and I think I've seen 1720, 1520 and sevearl others - there seems to be a whole series of them.

Could someone please tell me when (and where) these little guys were made, what models they are, and about what horsepower they are? They're sure cute little devils, and look like great tractors for restoration and would be easy to haul to shows.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, and responses to my e-mail address would be best, as I'm traveling around and don't get to a computer terminal to access this board as often as I would like. I do, however, check mail messages quickly when I get the chance. My e-mail address is Indillia@AOL.com

Thanks,

Stan Huff

The '20-series was the last of the Ford compacts. They replaced the '10-series in the late '80's and were in production when Ford sold to New Holland (in '92 I think). NH continued production of some of the '20 models (with some changes I think) until the Boomer tractors were introduced. That was in '99 I think.

I'm not sure how many '20-series models there were. However, the 10-series ran from 1110 to 2110, but the 11 and 1210 were more garden than compact tractors. The pto HP ranged from around 12 to 30.
