I have really enjoyed lurking here and reading the messages..now I have a question ! I have a '68 2000 that the lift seems to have amind of its own. Sometimes it will raise and sometimes it won't. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dennis

My advice on hitch covers is usually the same. It only costs a few bucks more to buy the parts to completely overhaul the average lift cover than to only buy parts for what seems to be wrong. New piston seal and backup, o-rings between the cylinder and lift cover, o-rings for between the lift cover and remote valve or accessory plate. A new cam follower pin and unload valve seal. Lift cover gasket, o-rings for supply and return ports, and a return filter. Adjust internal linkage. Only the most abused and neglected systems need a safety valve or cylinder & piston replacement, or other valve work. Pump overhaul is a separate issue and there is no redundant work if this needs to be done later.
