OK. I got the pump to start pumping oil. I removed the front most allen plug, dumped some oil in it and after piddling with it for a while it stated to pump oil. I let it run awhile and refilled the reservoir.
The arms raised slowly(no weight), they went a the way up, but it did take some time.
Went back the next day and nothing. Pulled the plug on the pump and nothing.
Any suggestions. Could really use some help here.
Thanks...

The drive gear end seal and or bearing needs replaced it is sucking air instead of oil.

Scott,
Thanks for the tip. Do you know if this is a shop fix(press required) or if the backyard mechanic(me) can handle it....
Thanks again....

Probably shop fix because the bearing is hard to remove in order to access the seal.

The hydraulic pump is a strange creature. My 641's pump loses prime after it has sat over the winter; the arms won't move or lift. I can prime the pump by removing the allen plug on top of the pump and crank the engine until I get oil just as you all have said here. From then on the system works fine, no hicups, lifts and holds up the bushhog or landscape groomer etc. as long as the tractor is used every week or so through the summer. Once it sits over the winter same problem.
