Hi,
I have a 4500 diesel that won't crank over. It's always been a little tempermental to find the sweet spot in neutral, but now I can't find a sweet spot. I was able to jump the solenoid and get it running but would like to fix it properly. Does anyone have or know where I can get the electrical schematic for the starting switches?

Thanks,
Andy in Yakima

It it was tempermental in neutral, sounds like the neutral safety switch which is a common problem. Try jumping the switch and see if you have the prblem. As for the schematic it is in the Ford service manual. If you can't get one, let me know and i'll try to copy mine and e-mail it you. Good luck

Thanks for the response Joe,

I assumed that might be the problem also but a schematic (which was sent to me privately-Thank you to that person) should help me verify that for sure.

Joe, can you verify the position of the neutral switch as being in front of the shift stick on top of the transmission?

Thanks,
Andy in Yakima
