A week or so ago I posted about my 63 2000 dying after it would get hot. Thought the problem might be with the coil, everyone verified this was at least a good place to start. I finally got a chance to work on it today, turned out that the coil was the external resistor type, only problem was that there was no external resistor! I put a new coil, resistor, and switch on it, ran it for about an hour and a half without any problems at all, something it would absolutely not do before. Thanks to everyone for the help, it is a great feeling to work on something and actually have it work properly afterwards! That is something I am not used to, and surely wouldnt be that way now if not for the advise I got here.

IF YOUR 2000 HAS POINTS AND CONDENSER, SEARCH FOR "DENNYS CARB SHOP". I INSTALLED ONE OF THEIR ELECTRONIC IGNITION KITS ON MY 3550 INDUSTRIAL AND DIFFERENCE IN STARTING IS UNBELIEVABLE, PLUS YOU NEVER HAVE TO SCREW WITH POINTS AND CONDENSER AGAIN. I THINK IT WAS LESS THAN $100.

Nothing more aggravating than a piece of equipment not running when you need it. Congrats on your accomplishment
