I would like to know if anyone has a suggestion as to where to start to find out why my tractor no longer starts by the key? The key turns on the lights, and works the glow plugs, but won't turn over the starter. I jumped the solenoid, (even though it says not to) and the tractor started and ran fine so I could get it home, but still won't start with the key. It has been working great until now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill

A safety switch is either not working or the wires are no longer making contact, there is one on the clutch pedal and the one on the pto would make the yellow pto on light stay on in the instrument panel even though the handle is in the off position.

All good, except there is no yellow PTO indicator on the dash of a 1520. It may be possible to push the rear PTO lever back past 'off' to a position where it won't crank. There is a safety switch on the mid PTO if it has one, all safety switches activate a relay on the front of the firewall that enables the cranking circuit. I believe that relay is yellow.

I tried replacing the safety switch on the clutch, and the rear pto. Neither one helped. There was mention of a mid pto? is that the one for the belly mower? If so , is the sensor the one which screws into the side of the tranny? Is there a way to bypass the sensor to see if it is the problem? Also could the relay be bad ? Thanks, Bill
