My 631 usually has good oil pressure - but recently it has dropped to almost zero -

How - what can i check to see if it is the gauge or if the pressure is really low (gone!)?

What could be the causes? Recently changed to the oil and filter - but the gauge was showing low pressure before the change.

Thanks All

Alex

Since the drop was sudden, I'd check the pressure gauge. Oil leaks around sending unit (if electric gauge) are a sign of trouble. To verify the oil pressure, take a known good mechanical gauge and connect it directly to wherever your gauge taps into the block.

The oil pan comes off easy so you can replace the pump, if your pump pickup tube has a cup on the end you will need all the updated tubes along with the pump, proper relief valve spring, relief valve spring access plug and remove the screen on the drain plug, if your pickup tube has the flat screen on the end already you will just need the pump, proper relief valve spring for inside the new pump, relief valve spring access plug, gaskets and seal, check the pump drive shaft for wear. take the pump to your local New Holland (Ford) dealer so they can see which style pump you have now.
