Hi,

We've been having problems with our 3 point hitch not lifting. Our hydraulics up front work fine, the bucket will lift etc. The 3 point hitch will drop fine, but will not come back up when we engage the lever. Any ideas out there? Is there a filter plugged, bad H-oil, etc..?

thanks

Hi Paul, I presume your front loader does not have a separate front pump and that it appears to operate Ok from the rear hydaulics, Possibilities:
- stuck unload valve (located in lift cylinder casting parallel to the control valve. If you listen carefully, you should be able to hear it click as you move the depth control handle. It's operated by oil pressure to redirect pump oil to the 3-point hitch lift cylinder. - back pressure valve on the return oil line/filter stuck open. You need a little back pressure to operate the unload valve. - Oil Leak - rockshaft piston seals
----- ----- lift cyl. safety valve
----- ----- o-rings
----- ----- crack in lift cyl casting.

Good luck with it, let us know....

I forgot to mention that its a ford 5000 , and the 3 point hitch will raise eventially. Its very sporadic. Maybe one of the control valves is stuck? I'm really pressed to figure this out so we can use our snowblower, we are getting snowed in.
