I have an opportunity to purchase a 1964 Ford 2000… This is how the owner describes it:

“This is a model 2000, 1964 tractor which we have owned for approximately five years. It is a four cylinder, gas, 12 volt DC, with backhoe attachment, gannon scrapper, posthole digger and two buckets. It's running and ready to go. We don't have a trailer for it, so you'd have to rent one if you decide to buy it.”

I haven’t seen it in person yet, but, from the photos, it looks like it hasn’t had much TLC lately… What is this baby worth (roughly)?

Plus, I want this to be a working tractor. I don’t want it to be a restoration project… How much maintenance and repair work can I expect on a Ford tractor of this vintage?

Thanks!!!

Bill,
I have a 63 2000 4cyl. gas. I paid $2500 for it and 5' bush hog, I love it, it's given me no trouble. I live in Ga. and it don't get bad cold but it starts every time. I have 25+ acres I bush hog, I use a 6' scrape blade, 6' disc, single shank subsoiler, 8' spike tooth harrow, and have pulled several LARGE logs with it and all I have done is regular service. it is not as big as I wanted to get, but it is a very nice tractor.

May GOD bless,
Levi
