Guys, My 860 had a knock knock knock I figured was gonna take a valve adjustment to fix. Took the valve cover off and ran the engine and noticed that the oil tube coming up to the rocker shaft was jumping up and down. I could put my hand on it and found I could hold it down. So we bent the tube up slightly so it would positively contact the rocker cover. Put the cover back on and the noise was gone. This tube is retained by a clip where it goes into the rocker shaft. We took the side cover off and find a rubber seal on the other end of the tube but no way of retaining this end of the tube where it goes into the block. Is this normal? Is the rocker cover what they actually use to keep this tube from moving? We figure the oil pressure pulses were making the tube jump against the rocker cover.... Alan

A new seal should keep it in place.
