I need to put some wider rims and tires on the front of my Ford 1720 instead of the narrow rims and tires I have now. I added a loader and the narrow tires leave deep marks in my yard. Any suggestions?

I think the industrial tires might carry a bit more than the ag tires, you might wish to look at that. As stated, be careful of changing the diameter if this is 4wd.

I'm looking at a 1720 with loader, I'd have a few questions on how it works, if you would want to email me? what can the thing lift? Work well?

My 1720 is 2WD. I added an Allied 195 loader. So far it works great. I dug out an old pond with it. 4WD would be better but its seems to work great as long as I have some wieght on the back. I do wish my bucket was bigger.

If it is a 4WD you can't without making sure the height is correct to keep the ratio the same which will be difficult.

The comment about tire diameters (rolling circumference ratio) on 4wd tractors is well taken, although there is tolerance for minor departures and use of different tire pressures can compensate.

Wheels are available from NH and there are less expensive after-market suppliers as well although some bolt patterns may be unavailable. Many tires can be mounted on a range of wheel widths. Something probably can be found with some nosing around.

A simple solution might be to carry a heavy 3ph implement when doing heavy loader work in the yard. Loaded rear tires will hold down the back but won't change the tractor's balance. Of course, if the tractor has ag tires, it's probably going to mess up the yard in wet whether no matter what.
