have a 7600 ford and the engine block has two small cracks in it about 1 inch below the deck and the head. Cracks are where the two middle head bolts fasten to the block. A little oil is coming from one crack and not the other. I'm assuming that this is a stress crack? We are not getting any prssure out of the cracks, so they aren't into the cynlinders. Would we be able to prevent any further problems by grinding out and welding the cracks? What is everyone's opinion? thanks in advance!

sand profieriously,, and use jb weld.. as long as they are not into the compression chamber, jb weld will work on a clean surface for about 62.5 years before needing attn.. at least as measured so for... have used to seal oil pan cracks on massy harris, rearend cracks on allis chambers, vibration cracks on jubulee series gas tanks, holding tanks on motorhomes,, but again it only works on clean dry surfaces, with no oil.. you must use alcolhol or something to remove all oil, sand and clean as much as possible..gl Bill
