Like Ron said the only difference could be the input shaft and the output shaft , the early tractors were 10 spline and the later tractors are 23 spline other than that the transmissions are the SAME , the HYDRAULICS are the SAME , and the will swap with a clutch disc change and modifing the coupler between the rear end and the trans. Thanks Tony Jacobs

I tried this several years ago and it didn't work. I can't remember all the problems...different hydraulic matchup, different bolt pattern on the spacer plate, different input shaft? Anyway, I ended up replacing the broken gears in the 841. John-COLO

Looks as if they will. There MAY be differences in the spline coupler between the trans & pinion shaft ONLY IF the transmissions are on opposite sides of tractor serial # 54165. Seeing as the s/n is stamped on the trans housing, that should be pretty easy to verify.
