My 3400 has a knock that sounds like it is commong from the #3 injector. It also blowes white smoke form the exhaust at high RPM. Other wise runs and starts good. Any suggestions?

at an idle.. loosen each injector coupling nut,, one at a time.. using a 5/8 TUBING wrench.. as you loosen, that cylinder will quit firing... you can then test each cyl..

if one cyl does not make any diff or little diff you have found a bad cyl or bad injector...

at speed do the same thing... you can quickly see which cyl is knocking...

be very carefull not to let hi presssure diesel fluid get injected into the skin,, as the first aid remedy is amputation!!!!!

knocking can be caused by bad timing, bad injectors, oil leaking into one or all cylinders..

knocking can also be caused by worn cyl, pistons, rods or inserts...
