Has anyone ever seen an actual Dowden foot feed for a Jubilee. I have seen many on 8N's but never on an NAA model. Do they even exhist or were most the later Ford throttles put on the earlier model Fords? I want to build one if I can't find one. I want it to look like original. I need a pic to go by. Can you help me with any info. Thanks, Bill

Thanks, Jim and Bill for posting. I read on this site how rare the Elanco 4 wheel drive conversions are. I personally think the Dowden foot feed is equally as rare. I've been looking for this foot feed for at least 8 years and only ran into dead ends. I can't believe more weren't sold back in the 50's. Cars have had foot throttles since the Model A, why didn't people want them on a tractor? Just different thinking in another time I guess. OH I'M RAMBLING AGAIN, Seif.

I have one on my 850. It doesn't work worth a hoot. Seems to be too much to ask to transfer up and down motion of the foot pedal on the right side of the tractor to front to back motion of the carb linkage on the left side of the tractor. Could be that mine is just worn out.

I know of someone who is working on a reproduction foot pedal assembly for sale, but I'm sworn to secrecy until he has it perfected, tested, and ready to go. I'm sure he'll announce it here at the appropriate time.

As for pics, I could try photographing my useless unit if I could ever get home before dark.

I have a 1961 Ford 4000 Industrial, totally stock including the paint. Looks like an 841 except the plastic medallion on the egg crate grill reads For Industrial. It has both a hand throttle and foot throttle that are strictly stock Ford. Works great. Look for them in your local junkyard.
