One of the hydraulic pipes in the main boom of the hoe was leaking so I took it to get brazed since the dealership said this pipe is no longer made. well, they brazed it, looked real nice BUT after I hooked it up and put it int he boom and worked it for a few minutes it popped in a big way. I still have to take it out of the boom again but I was thinking of getting a rubber hydraulic hose made up to replace it. what do you guys think? Is it possible to buy this pipe anyplace before I get a rubber one made up? Thanks.

You can replace hydraulic tubing with hydraulic hose and live to tell about it. I did this quite a bit on my 713-series hoe attached to my '57 840. Functions just fine. In my case the tubing fit proprietary 713-series hydraulic ports and I replaced many cylinders with generic cylinders with standard ports. You should make sure the hose isn't flopping around near pinch points or chafe points. This can be done by securing it with tie wraps/clamps or whatever where it replaced tubing. Of course it is preferable, purity-wise, to replace tubing with tubing but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
