I AM THINKING OF BUYING A POST HOLE DIGGER FROM TRACTOR SUPPLY FOR MY NAA. MY QUESTION IS WITHOUT POWER DOWN HYDROLICS WILL THE DIGGER WORK WELL?? AND IS THE TRACTOR SUPPLY DIGGER A QUALITY PIECE??

As others said, the weight and drilling movement of the PHD is all you need as far as that is concerned. The TSC unit should do you fine for personal use, i.e., unless you dig post holes for a living. Get a couple of extra shear pins, probably grade 5 or less for most models.

Bubsdad, I have a post hole digger with 9" auger from TSC that I use on my 8N. Once the auger starts in the ground, it pulls itself down somewhat due to the drilling. If you are in soft ground, the auger can quickly get sucked into the ground very fast. Philip.

I think you will find the weight of the phd is enough to dig in. On hard ground I get a helper with a tamping bar to pry down the auger.
