If my tractor, model 860-L, serial number 1361185, was made to use propane and now uses gasoline, does that mean the motor was changed? Or can a propane engine be converted to run with gasoline? I'm wondering if I have a different motor or if the 5 at the end of my serial number means a dealer converted my tractor over to run on gasoline> Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Bill

Another likely scenario is that your tractor was always a gasoline tractor and had it's transmission replaced with one salvaged out of a propane tractor since the model and serial numbers are stamped on the transmission. Does your tractor have the big propane tank sticking out of the hood?

Your engine was likely converted from propane to gasoline. That's no big deal, but converting a gasoline engine to propane would be hard on valves.
