I have seen 770's on 1710's but not on 1720's. Not to say it couldn't be done, but I wouldn't expect it to bolt right up. You would have to do some detailed measuring and comparing to decide. The 7308 is totally different from the 770.

Okay, so say if the 770 would fit, am I still better off to spend the bucks on a new 7308? How is it different? Is it better? Thanks.

I can't answer that, because I don't know:
1. Whether you will pay shop rate to make the 770 fit, or do it yourself.
2. What for sure is involved in making the 770 fit.
3. What your budget is.
4. What you intend to do with a loader.
5. What condition the 770 is in, it surely isn't new.

Thanks for your reply Rick. In answer:
1. I will try to do it myself if it is not too involved.
2. My local New Holland dealer says it should fit.
3. I would like to save the money. New price for a 7308 is $4000 (Canadian or about $2500 US). I would be buying the 770 mounted on a Ford 1600 w/1080 hours, in exc condition, along with a John Deer rear blade, Land Pride rough cut mower (almost new), and Howard tiller (good cond) for $9500 Canadian (about $6000US). I will be reselling most of this, or the current mower and tiller I have, and I figure I should come out of the deal with the loader for about $1000 to $2000 (($600 to $1200 US) out of my pocket.
4. General acreage use, lifting, some light digging.
5. The loader is in excellent condition, new seals in the rams, very straight, even the bucket, paint is only slightly rubbed off in spots.
